About

Hello, my name is Evelyn Reyes and welcome to my blog.
I was born in Los Angeles, CA but I grew up in Texas near the San Antonio area. I am 21 years old and currently a Communications student at Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
I am also a freelance photographer. I do portraits, landscapes, color, black and white, still-lifes, animals… you name it. I like experimenting with my Nikon. It is like independent learning and helps with my self-discovering and knowing what intrigues me.
Photography is an art that should be shared with the world. There is a story behind every photograph taken and triggers a variety of emotions upon the viewer.
I have been interested in photography since I was a kid. I first learned how to take pictures on a Kodak disposable camera and then a point-and-shoot camera back in the early 2000s. Every time I saw something that captures my attention, I had that urge to take out my camera and take a picture, whether it’s a beautiful sunset or children popping bubbles.
In 2015, I started taking a photography course at Northwest Vista College, taught by Melanie Rush-Davis, and it strengthened my knowledge of working with DSLR cameras and Adobe Photoshop. I also had opportunities to work with other students in the course and learned from each other. Since then, I have photographed weddings, family events, festivals, and nature.
I decided to create a site that showcases my work. I’ve had family and friends telling me to put together a portfolio for a while and I decided to give it a try. I’m not afraid to show off my work.
