Every year in April, my church holds a Spanish ACTS retreat for women. I can't get into details on what the retreat is about due to a code of secrecy but it starts from Thursday afternoon and it ends until Sunday around noon, depending on mass time.
I've lived it, also my mom and aunt. I was surprised that my 19 year old cousin chose to live it. She's been working long hours at a local restaurant and would always make excuses to not live it.
Their retreat was 3 weeks ago. On that Sunday, I arrived at church around 3 pm.
I saw the women who participated wearing a pink ACTS polo shirt. The color reminded me of strawberry milk or bubblegum that has lost its flavor.
I hated it. Everyone says that they love the color though. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but in my opinion, UGLY.
Anyway, the participants were happy and full of energy. They all gathered in front of the altar, ready for the picture.
